The Dallas Farmers Market Friends (DFMF) will hold its 17th Annual Hoedown on Thursday, November 3 at Fair Park’s Food & Fiber Pavilion. The annual fundraiser benefits the Dallas Farmers Market and highlights the best of local food from Dallas’ top restaurants, Texas’ best wines and foods from local producers.
The fundraiser is particularly special this year. Not only will it celebrate the Market’s 70th anniversary as Dallas’ landmark for the farm to market trade, it will also be held as a tribute to one of Dallas’ more dedicated civic servants and the 1991 founder of the Dallas Farmers Market Friends, Ida Papert, who passed away in January of this year.
Texas classic rock band The Lil’ Blue Pills will perform and auctions will feature plates designed and painted by local celebrity chefs, local art, vacation packages and more.
