Little D Farmers Market was created in 2014 with the goal of bringing more fresh, local produce to Dallas. With hundreds of small farms within the DFW metroplex, there didn’t seem to be a reason for the lack of markets in town, and, more specifically, in our neighborhood West of the river.
Sometimes, with the mantra of “Everything’s Bigger in Texas,” we lose sight of the small, sustainable communities that can and should exist in our city, instead focusing on large-scale, big-box stores that prioritize low price over quality. We hope that Little D makes it more convenient to eat local, stay healthy and support our regional farmers.
Having a source for locally-grown produce not only improves the health and quality of life in the surrounding area, but can also strengthen the community by providing a social gathering of like-minded food enthusiasts.
You can be assured that all of our vendors directly raise, grow, and/or make whatever they are selling within a 150-mile radius of Dallas; there are no middlemen.
