Happy Labor Day Friends! 

September kicks off my Stress Less month where we will explore HOW stress affects your body and WHAT you can do to stress less!For this weeks recipe I wanted to share a delish recipe using natural sweeteners.  Sugar can be very detrimental to our health and increase the physiological effects associated with stress.  Switching to more natural sweeteners such as honey, maple syrup, and stevia will help to reduce those side effects.  However, even natural sugars, if eaten in large quantities, can affect our blood sugar and increase the chances of systemic yeast. Everything in moderation, including moderation. :)  I hope you enjoy this recipe and if have a chance to try them please let me how your tastebuds faired.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1c raw almonds
  • 1c raw pecans
  • 1c raw gluten-free oats
  • 1/8 c raw powdered cacao
  • 1/3 c raw honey
  • 3 tsp vanilla
  • 1/8 c carob chips
DIRECTIONS
 
  • Combine almonds, pecans, oats and cacao in a food processor and grind into a slightly coarse meal.
  • Stir in honey & vanilla and then add the carob chips
  • Roll into golf sized balls and place on parchment paper.  Refridgerate for atleast 1 hour before serving.  Keep in the fridge.
