Square Burger takes its name from the McKinney town square where it is located, not the shape of its burgers. They are round, juicy and flavorful--about a half pound of grass-fed beef (freshly ground just around the corner at Local Yocal and delivered daily) a slice of tomato, nearly a wedge of lettuce, and some onion on a large bun. Even with all the condiments and a layer of mayo or mustard, the rich beef flavor comes through. The restaurant also has a full bar, 30 beers on tap, a fine selection of wines and an innovative dinner menu.
Managing Partner Brandon Horrocks is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and a veteran of Café Pacific, Patrizio and Goodhue’s in McKinney. He's partnered with chef Craig Brundege, who also worked at Goodhue's, as well as a number of restaurants in California including Spago in Beverly Hills.
