The Coppell Farmers Market will be hosting the fourth 2013 “Market to Kitchen” Chef Series on September 28th.  These series are sponsored by the Coppell Farmers Market where local chefs are invited to demonstrate how market customers can unleash their inner chef using fresh market ingredients.

On September 28th, at 10am, the special guest will be the charismatic manager of the Hard Eight BBQ Restaurant - Dave Blair. The Go Texan restaurant, located in Old Town Coppell, needs no introduction judging by the fact that the restaurant’s parking lot is always full. Hard Eight BBQ has been a longtime friend of the Coppell Farmer’s Market helping with the customer appreciation days and was a popular guest at last summer’s “Market to Kitchen” Chef Series.

Hard Eight BBQ will be demonstrated their Veggie Kabobs, a popular cater item, plus Pecan Stuffed Jalapenos.

The CFM Market to Kitchen series highlights local chefs demonstrating how to prepare meals using locally produced, seasonal ingredients from the Coppell Farmers Market’s farmers and producers. It has become a market favorite to be able to enjoy more time at the market, learn from a chef, and take home recipes and tips.  The Coppell Farmers Market supports and encourages educational opportunities for customers to have a healthy, sustainable lifestyle and this season’s series will reflect many of the values and benefits of local food found at the farmers market.

The Coppell Farmers Market is beginning to cross over into the fall produce and hopefully cooler weather soon.  On October 19th, bring your children and children for Food Day for Kids, where there will be several chef demos for the wee folk and plenty of fun.  Sign up on the website for emails about upcoming events: www.coppellfarmersmarket.org

The Coppell Farmers Market is open each Saturday morning from 8 AM until noon in Old Town Coppell at 793 S. Coppell Rd.  Lone Star Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) and bank ATM cards can be used to purchase wooden market tokens at the picnic tables and used like cash at the Coppell Farmers Market vendor booths.  More information is available at www.coppellfarmersmarket.org
