Welcome to November's Edition of Miss Nutrish's Most Delish'ous! I apologize for the tardy posting but sometimes life happens and needs to be tended to. I am sure all of my loving friends understand this. :) This month I am so pleased to be sharing with you these gems to be given the title of  November's Most Delish'ous. As I am writing this I am reminded of the true reason I decided to begin this journey of healthy living and sharing; to find and acknowledge others who are spreading the gift of conscious living through their establishments and products. I seek to find businesses that are not only promoting health & wealth at a face value but through all of their business endeavors.

It is with honor and gratitude that I share with you my Favorite Service & Product of November.

Yours in good health & delish'ousness,

Danae

Miss Nutrish's Most Delish'ous Service:
Thai Yoga Therapy with Carah Ronan

For the month of November I wanted to offer all of you more insight into a truly restorative, healing practice I have discovered thanks to my good friend, Carah Ronan

Thai Yoga Therapy can be gentle and nurturing when needed, it is more often very physically intensive, with a focus on therapy more than pampering. Thai Yoga Therapy is performed with the client clothed, on a mat on the floor.  Typically a session lasts between 1 ½ - 2 hours, but can also be considerably longer if needed.

Carah uses her thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet to apply a combination of acupressure, gentle rocking and twisting, joint and spine mobilizations and assisted dynamic yoga stretches.

My experience with this therapy has been life changing.  Working with Carah has brought greater understanding as to where my blockages lie within my body.  I could literally feel emotional blockages lifting as if they were stagnant energy I had been suppressing in crevices of my body.  Time seemed irrelevant in that meditative space and I had no idea we had been practicing for two hours.  I left feeling more grounded and lighter.  The next day I did feel a little sore and tired but with greater peace and ease of my joints.

Carah explained to me how Thai Massage works in helping to clear our energy paths which can be blocked for a number of reasons such as; physical & emotional trauma, bad posture, injuries, etc.  The techniques used during a session help to bring the body back to its natural equilibrium.

Additional benefits of Thai Yoga Therapy include: improved posture, breathing, flexibility, digestion and circulation.  It also helps therapeutically to reduce symptoms of back & joint pain, tension, insomnia and other stress related conditions.

There is truth in the power of healing touch and Thai Yoga Therapy is recommended for those seeking a more holistic approach to well-being and balanced living.  Carah is passionate about what she does and takes time to individualize each session to her client's specific needs.  It was such a pleasure working with her and reaping the benefits of Thai Yoga that I will surely become a regular of this practice.  To find out more about Thai Yoga visit Urban Yoga's website to learn more about all of their healing arts resources and be connected with Carah directly.

Miss Nutrish's Most Delish'ous Product:
Holy Kombucha

First I want to give you the scoop on WHY their product is SOOO beneficial for your health and why everyone should be running out to purchase Holy Kombucha. Kombucha is a sweet tea that has been fermented. This tea is an ancient beverage that has been around for more than 2000 years and was heralded by the Chinese as the 'Immortal Health Elixir'...HOLY kombucha?! This title may seem hefty but I would have to agree, with the history of health benefits of this bubbly beverage.

November marks Digestive health month at Nutrish'N on a Mission so the digestive benefits of kombucha make this beverage one of my top 5 picks for healthy drinks. This drink naturally provides probiotics which support overall digestive health by increasing the number of healthy bacteria in our gut flora. In turn, these probiotics fight off candida and provide greater mental clarity and mood stability. We now know we are made of more bacteria than cells so this is a particulary important topic to be mindful of. :) We also know that 70% of our immune system is located in and around our gut so when our gut is functioning optimally, typically our immune system will be of rockstar status too.

Additionally, kombucha is overflowing with antioxidants which are imperative for a healthy immune system. Kombucha is also known to prevent cancer, arthritis and other degenerative diseases. This is supported because of its immense detoxification benefits. It contains many enzymes and bacteria your body needs to detoxify, reducing the load on your pancreas and liver thus leaving little room for invading cancer cells. This marvelous drink also supports our joints by supplying our body with glucosamines; which help increase the production of hyaluronic acid...leaving our joints nice and lubricated, ready to move & groove!

WOW! Talk about action packed, I definitely include this tasty beverage in my weekly regimen. I was first drawn to Holy Kombucha when I attended the annual VeggieFest in Dallas in 2012. I had been reading about the health benefits of kombucha, as I was a sufferer of MANY digestive disturbances. I decided to give their brand a taste since I hadn't found one I absolutely loved, the taste or sugar content. Let me tell you, it tasted beyond delish. It was the perfect blend of natural fruit flavor with sweet effervescence. I ended up buying a quart! Fast forward to today and I enjoy my Holy Kombucha from my neighbor, Central Market. Here are more places you can enjoy your favorite tea:

On Tap: Juice Junkies & Brewed

Bottles: Wholefoods, Central Market (Dallas & Austin), Magnolia Cheese Factory, Green Grocers, Spiral Diner

They have many delish flavors to choose from including: Blood orange, raspberry pomegranate, green apple ginger, berry passion & prickly pear.   I have to say I have tried them ALL and I thoroughly enjoy the variety there is to choose from. When I am really suffering from digestive disturbances the green apple ginger has an extra kick with the spiciness of ginger, very healing to the gut.

My stamp of approval is also given to the sugar content of this beverage. On average each flavor contains 4-8grams of sugar per serving. All ingredients are of good quality and the sugar is derived from natural fruit juice and puree. Sugar content is particularly important to pay attention to as we typically consume MUCH more than we need on a daily basis, leading to a host of degenerative diseases.

Holy Kombucha started in 2011 and has taken off with their product. They are very involved locally and offer a giving back program in which 10% of their proceeds are donated to a charity of their fans' decision. Voting takes place quarterly so be sure to get in on the conversation by visiting their Facebook page or other social media outlets (twitter, instagram, pinterest). How is that for community involvement? Not only are they so generously giving back to those in need, but they are letting their customers decide as to where their money is being spent. When businesses demonstrate such humbleness & gratitude they are sure to succeed.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Theresa Pham of Holy Kombucha and speaking with her only furthered my love of the product.  She was so passionate about their product and their mission that I felt the need to go out and buy a case of Holy Kombucha!  She shared with me the dedication their small team embodies and I was amazed with the amount of groundwork they have covered in such a short time of releasing their product.

The integrity of the business owners, their product and their mission to thrive & share is what makes Holy Kombucha  my pick for Miss Nutrish's Most Delish'ous.  I am honored to live in the same town as this growing business and I am excited to see what heights they reach.  I highly encourage all of my friends, family, readers, etc to incorporate Kombucha into your diet to reap the benefits mentioned above.  Knowing where your food originates is your due diligence to yourself so what better way than going with a brand you can trust like Holy Kombucha.

You can find Holy Kombucha in Whole Food locations during the month of December for taste testing.  Follow them on pinterest, twitter and instagram (@HolyKombucha)or visit them on their Facebook page.
